Citizens Advice Rushmoor celebrates MBEs for Karyle Davidge-Stringer and Mark Chatterton in the King’s Birthday Honours
Citizens Advice Rushmoor is proud to announce that two of its most dedicated and long-serving former leaders, Karyle Davidge-Stringer and Mark Chatterton, have been recognised in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours List with the award of Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
These honours acknowledge their exceptional commitment to public service and their significant contributions to the voluntary and advice sectors over many years.
Karyle Davidge-Stringer, who served as Service Manager at Citizens Advice Rushmoor for over 20 years, was a driving force in the expansion and development of the organisation’s frontline services. She played a pivotal role in ensuring that free, impartial, and confidential advice was accessible to all — especially those in the most vulnerable and disadvantaged circumstances.
Throughout her tenure, Karyle championed client-focused service delivery, innovation in outreach and inclusion, and the continuous development of staff and volunteers. Her calm leadership, deep expertise, and unwavering belief in social justice helped thousands of individuals across Rushmoor to find their voice, understand their rights, and navigate life’s most difficult challenges.
Mark Chatterton, as Chair of Trustees, brought strategic vision and strong governance to Citizens Advice Rushmoor. He served on the Board for many years, including several as Chair, leading the organisation through significant periods of change and growth. A passionate advocate for fairness and equality, Mark’s work behind the scenes helped ensured that Citizens Advice Rushmoor remained financially sustainable, well-governed, and resilient in the face of increasing demand.
Calum Stewart, Chief Executive Officer, welcomed the news:
“We are incredibly proud to see both Karyle and Mark honoured in this way. Their dedication to public service and the values of the Citizens Advice movement has touched the lives of countless people.
“This national recognition is richly deserved and reflects not only their personal contributions, but the impact of everyone who has worked with them — staff, volunteers, and trustees alike. They helped build a culture rooted in compassion, integrity and empowerment, and their legacy continues to inspire everything we do today.”
The honours awarded to Karyle and Mark underscore the vital role that local Citizens Advice services play in strengthening communities, protecting the vulnerable, and promoting fairness across society. Their achievements are a testament to what can be accomplished through leadership, volunteerism, and a shared commitment to helping others.
The team at Citizens Advice Rushmoor extends heartfelt congratulations to Karyle and Mark, and expresses gratitude for their years of service.
