Nepali Domestic Abuse Project – Volunteering Opportunity

We’re inviting passionate and community-minded individuals to volunteer with the Nepali Domestic Abuse Project – a vital service supporting the Nepali community in Rushmoor and surrounding areas.

As a volunteer, you’ll work closely with our dedicated team – Caseworker Aliza Gurung and Outreach Worker Arati Thapa – gaining insight into how a culturally specific domestic abuse service is delivered in practice.

This is a rewarding opportunity to develop your skills, contribute to vital outreach work, and make a lasting impact in the community.

🔍 Volunteer Role Overview

As part of the team, you will:

  • Create social media content using information provided by the team
  • Help manage and grow our social media presence to raise awareness
  • Attend outreach events and help deliver presentations, talks, and workshops
  • Liaise with local organisations, faith groups and community leaders to promote the service and arrange future outreach
  • Accompany the Outreach Worker to client appointments, in line with safety protocols requiring two team members on off-site visits

 What You’ll Gain

  • Firsthand experience in domestic abuse casework and community outreach
  • Strong understanding of culturally informed service delivery
  • Skills in communications, stakeholder engagement, and safeguarding
  • Confidence in working with minoritised and migrant communities
  • The chance to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives
