Skills for Life – Helping you build confidence, resilience and practical life skills
Skills for Life is a free community programme from Citizens Advice Rushmoor that helps people develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to handle everyday challenges and make the most of their resources.
Building on our existing Advice First Aid, Energy Outreach Programme and other community workshops, Skills for Life brings these initiatives together into one cohesive programme — making it easier for people to access practical, prevention-focused support.
We run a mix of interactive workshops, outreach sessions and one-to-one support, tailored to the needs of different groups and communities.
Our sessions cover topics such as:
• Managing money and budgeting effectively
• Recognising and avoiding scams
• Making your home safer and more energy efficient
• Understanding credit and borrowing options
• Shopping around for better deals and knowing your consumer rights
Each session is practical, engaging and easy to understand, helping people take proactive steps to improve their financial security, wellbeing and resilience.
Skills for Life reaches across the community — including people who may face additional barriers — and works in partnership with local organisations to create lasting, positive change.
