Changing Times at Citizens Advice in Farnborough

Following a very successful move to the civic offices in Farnborough, Citizens Advice Rushmoor is trying out some new ways of working, to help streamline the service available for clients.

“The new move has resulted in some big changes for our service” said Alex Hughes, Chief Officer.  “In addition to seeing more people, our work now involves closer links with the range of agencies here at Rushmoor, picking up additional referrals and clients.  All of this is really positive, but it does mean that we need to work carefully match our service to client needs”.

Currently, the service offers a combination of telephone advice, drop in, appointments and quick advice all running at the same time.  As a result of the changes, the service will now be piloting a split between the drop in and appointments services 3 days a week.  From 3rd June, appointments and telephone will continue to run throughout the day, with the drop in service as follows:

Monday 9.30 to 3.00
Tuesday 9.30 to 3.00
Wednesday 9.30 to 12.30
Thursday 9.30 to 12.30
Friday 9.30 to 12.30

Reception staff will be on duty during our core hours through to 3.00 pm each day, and will be available to signpost or provide basic information.

“We are clear that this is not a reduction in our service, but more an opportunity to use the time and space available more effectively” said Alex.  “By working this way we hope that we will be in a better position to offer appointments to those clients who need it, and also provide a quick turnaround for people who just need more straightforward information or help”.

The Aldershot Citizens Advice office opening times remain unchanged.
